TIRUMALA: On the seventh day of the Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara, Tirumala, on Friday, the processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy, adorned with rare and precious jewels and mounted on the dazzling "Surya Prabha'' vahanam was carried around the Hill temple in a grand procession. In the afternoon, special rituals like Asthanam and Visesha Samarpana were performed to the deity, inside the temple. Later, in the evening, after the Unjala seva at Unjal Mandapam, in which thousands of devotees participated, Lord Malayappa seated atop the fascinating "Chandra Prabha'' vahanam was taken around in a grand procession. The celestial "golden umbrella," which shall be installed atop the giant size wooden chariot of the temple for `Rathotsavam' festival, scheduled for Saturday, was on Friday carried out in a grand procession around the mada streets, encircling the temple complex along with traditional honours.
