Tension in Jaffna after road accident

COLOMBO OCT. 3. Tension prevailed in Sri Lanka's northern Jaffna town this evening after two persons riding a motorcycle were fatally knocked down by an Army truck.

Reports said an angry crowd protested the Army's attempt to take the bodies and demanded a judicial probe.

As the crowd turned restive and started pelting stones at the Army personnel, police opened teargas to bring the situation under control.
