Punjab police raid Daler's offices, homes in Delhi

Patiala Oct. 8. Punjab police sleuths today raided the offices and homes of pop singer Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Singh Shera in Delhi and made key seizures in connection with their alleged involvement in an illegal immigration racket, a senior police officer said.

Six police teams from the city raided Mehndi's Begum Enterprises office in Delhi's Connaught Place, the singer's home in Greater Kailash and the Vikas Puri house of his brother, the SSP (Patiala district), Paramraj Singh Umranagal, said.

Many documents relevant to the case of people smuggling against them and computers had been seized, he added.

Mehndi's brother Shera has been arrested after complaints that he promised to smuggle migrants abroad by passing them off as members of the singer's troupe.
