NEW DELHI: M. A. Pathan, Resident Director, Tata Group of Industries, and former chairman of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), has been elected as co-Chairman Emeritus of the International Energy Advisory Council (IEAC). U.S. Congressman, Curt Weldon, is Chairman Emeritus and ONGC Videsh (OVL) Chairman, Atul Chandra, is a member of the Council. According to an IEAC release, the Council is a strategic group of energy executives and experts from around the world constituted in the U.S. in July this year for providing guidance on energy security and to promote better understanding on supply issues between private enterprise and governments. The nomination of Mr. Pathan as co-Chairman Emeritus and Mr. Atul Chandra to the Council is expected to facilitate the participation of Indian companies in the reconstruction of Iraq and restoration of oil and gas supplies. The next meeting of the Florida-based IEAC is in London on October 23 and 24, the release says. Our Special Correspondent
