Airtel crosses one lakh customers mark

COIMBATORE: Airtel on Friday claimed that it had crossed one lakh mobile customers in Tamil Nadu, within just over a year after launching its services. With 400 base stations and providing seamless coverage to its customers, the company also recorded the largest network in the State, a Bharti Cellular release said here.

P. Swaminathan, CEO, Southern Hub, Mobility, Bharti Cellular, said it had coverage across 129 towns in the State. Bharti, which runs Airtel, has an aggregate of 5.1 million customers as of September 30, consisting of about 4.6 million mobile and 4.96 lakh fixed line customers and holds 25.2 per cent all India market share among mobile service providers, he said. — PTI
