Naidu advised more rest

HYDERABAD Oct. 11. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is recuperating from injuries sustained in an attack by naxalites on October 1, has been advised rest for a further three weeks. A review of X-rays, MRI and CT images has confirmed the previous findings of left collarbone fracture and suspected hairline fracture of right sixth rib on the right side.

A medical report of the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences said that a team of doctors had examined Mr. Naidu and that he appeared quite cheerful and active.

There was still some swelling near the left collarbone. However, there was no damage to any nerve or blood vessels in the left axilla. Mild cervical spondylosis was also noted besides a tingling and numbness in the left arm and hand. It would take some more time for the healing process to be complete, the release added.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Employment Generation, B. Gopalakrishna Reddy, who was also injured in the October 1 attack, was discharged from NIMS today after a review by a team of doctors. He has been advised to continue medication at home.
