Letters to the Editor
Sir, I refer to the shocking incident in which four soldiers of the Presidential Guards raped a student in Delhi. Will women ever trust a man in uniform again?
Prashant Solomon & Teddy Quadros,
Sir, If the men in uniform can take the law into their hands in a predominantly civilian area, it is anybody's guess what would be happening in places where security forces are given special powers. The army top brass must act tough immediately if an element of confidence is to be infused in it.
A.V. Narayanan,
Sir, The President's concern ( Oct. 10 ) is the nation's concern too. Besides the incident involving the Presidential Guards, the recent case of a nurse from Kerala has brought to the fore the security hazards for young women in the capital. The Delhi administration headed by a woman Chief Minister should take necessary steps to make the city safe.
