VHP workers leave for Ayodhya

Bangalore Oct. 13. A good number of workers of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) left for Ayodhya on Monday despite the serious doubts over the convention of "Ram bhakts" scheduled to be held there on October 17 being allowed by the Uttar Pradesh administration. The VHP workers left by the Gorakhpur Express and are bound for Lucknow. Prominent among those who left for Ayodhya are Y.K. Raghavendra Rao, All-India vice-president of the VHP, B.N. Murthy, secretary (South Zone), and Keshav Hegde, State organising secretary. According to VHP leaders here, batches of their workers would be entraining at places such as Hubli and Belgaum. The workers were aware of the sealing of all routes to Ayodhya and Faizabad by the Uttar Pradesh Government. They were also prepared for the eventuality of being forced out of the train at Jhansi railway station itself.
