HYDERABAD: The former State Intelligence chief, A. Siva Sankar, on Monday assumed office as Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the APSRTC. A police officer of the rank of Additional Director General-of Police, Mr. Siva Sankar took over from R.P. Singh who is made Police Commissioner. Mr. Siva Sankar belongs to the 1977 batch of the IPS and, before this assignment, served as SP of Srikakulam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone and Traffic in the city, Joint Commissioner of City Police, Deputy Inspector-General (Special Intelligence Bureau), DIG and Inspector-General of (Vigilance Cell of Civil Supplies). The new VC and MD was closeted with Executive Directors and heads of departments of the RTC. A power point presentation on the functioning of the RTC was also made to him, an RTC press release said. Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Sivasankar said that taking over the corporation and running it was a challenge he looked forward to.
