Govt. plea for SC review

By Our Special Correspondent

New Delhi Oct. 13. The Union Government today pleaded before the Supreme Court that its recent judgment halting the privatisation of oil PSUs on the ground of prior parliamentary approval needed ``serious reconsideration'' as it has ``cast clouds'' over the entire disinvestment process.

This was stated by the Attorney-General, Soli J. Sorabjee, on behalf of the Government before a Bench, comprising the Chief Justice, V.N. Khare, and Justice S.B. Sinha, which was hearing a petition filed by the employees association challenging the Centre's decision to privatise the rail coach manufacturing PSU, Jessop and Co. Ltd., in West Bengal. — PTI
