Cong. condemns attack on MP

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI OCT. 14. The Congress today condemned the attack on the party MP, Mani Shankar Aiyar, and demanded that the Tamil Nadu Government take deterrent action against those involved. Reacting to the attack on Mr. Aiyar on Monday, the party chief spokesperson, S. Jaipal Reddy, said here that the "cold-blooded attack" was "blatant political goondaism".

In a democracy, differences of opinion should be allowed to be aired and respected. "If politicians are waylaid and attacked for their views, then the democratic system would cease to exist," he said.
