According to the mother, Venkila Lakshmi, she along with her mother had taken Manikantan to the Durga temple in Visakhapatnam on October 5. The boy was entrusted to their relative Ujal Rao while they were engrossed in pooja. However, when the mother and daughter came back, the boy along with Rao was missing. They then filed a complaint with the Vishakhapatnam police. According to the police, they spotted the boy at the KSRTC station while Rao tried to abandon the child who was sleeping. Both of them were taken to Kottayam West Police Station and later the boy was shifted to the Poor Boys Home whose director Dr. Saramma mathew could converse with the boy in Telugu, making things easier for the police. The boy will be taken by his mother and uncle to Vijayawada on Wednesday.
