Reacting to Mr. Rosaiah's reported criticism that the NDA was on the path of "retrogression'' contrary to its claim of achieving all-round progress, he said: "We acknowledge that the PCC spokesperson is proficient in using sharp phrases, but it is clear from his outburst that he cannot accept facts.'' Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy said the NDA Government could achieve all-round development within just four years of its rule. "The Congress had bitterly failed to solve the basic problems of the nation in its longest tenure. In contrast, the Vajapayee Government did a lot for the welfare of people. "From the foreign currency reserves to reservations, our Government is in forefront and I am ready for an open debate on these issues with Mr. Rosaiah on any dais of his choice,'' he maintained. Mr. Reddy said the `gaon gaon chalo, ghar ghar chalo' programme evoked wonderful response in all districts and said that it could boost the confidence of party workers. The programme would be extended till November 10 to cover all areas. Asked if he planned to contest Assembly elections from Nalgonda, he evaded a direct answer and said with a cryptic smile that a decision would be taken at the time of the elections. Later, Mr. Reddy interacted with people in the town as part of the programme and explained the achievements of the Vajpayee Government to them. He also participated in public meetings at Nalgonda, Tipparthy, Miryalaguda and Halia before being returned to Hyderabad in the evening. The BJP zonal in-charge, Sriramoju Shanmukha, the district party president, Kalasika Pavan Kumar, the secretary, Veerelli Chandrasekar and others accompanied Mr. Indrasena Reddy.
