In a telephonic talk with this correspondent, Vinay Piparsania, Vice President (External Affairs), Ford India, said the sport utility vehicle (SUV) at present had 20 per cent local content, which included sheet metal and power drive. The balance was imported from the Ford's Thailand plant. The local content would go up once the demand for the vehicle picked up in India. Ford Endeavour, which comes in a 4x2 version, with a 4x4 option, would be on display in select cities across the country during October. Deliveries will commence in November. The 7-seater SUV, which made its debut in the Bangkok motor show in March this year would have manual transmission and available in both two and four wheel drive, Ford India Managing Director and President, David Friedman, said adding the vehicle has been developed on Ford's popular Ranger pick-up truck platform.
