Govt. in grip of lottery, liquor lobbies: BJP

By Our Staff Correspondent

CHITRADURGA OCT. 14. On the fourth day of its "Janasangharsha Yatra", the BJP alleged that the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, was hand in glove with the online lottery and liquor lobbies to the detriment of the welfare of the people of the State.

Addressing a rally at Davangere today, H.N. Ananth Kumar, former Union Minister and President of the BJP State unit, ridiculed the "Janaspandana Yatra" of Mr. Krishna and said, "He has lost the `spandana' (response) of the people. He has only `spandana' for liquor and online lottery lobby."

He accused the Congress Government of hijacking the programmes of the Union Government and projecting them as its own.

B.S. Yediyurappa, MLC, chided the people for tolerating what he called such an irresponsible Government, and asked them to join hands in getting rid of it.

`Supersede BMP'

Addressing a press conference later, Mr. Kumar urged the Government to supersede the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike for not utilising HUDCO assistance worth Rs. 1,000 crore to create basic infrastructure in the city. The BMP had failed on all fronts, he charged.
