These seats will now be offered by the Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell through its ongoing casual vacancy round on Thursday. CET engineering rank-holders from 1 to 20,000 can select the seats between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.; rank-holders from 20,001 to 36,500 between 11.15 a.m. and 1.15 p.m.; rank-holders from 36,501 to 38,500 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.; and those with ranks from 38,501 to 40,500 can choose the available seats from 4.15 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. Candidates who have selected engineering seats in the earlier seat selection process or during the casual vacancy round will also be eligible to participate in the selection of these enhanced seats on Thursday. Candidates who select seats in this round will have to collect their original documents from the previous college before joining the new college, the CET Special Officer, D.N. Nayak, said in a release. Following an All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) order to reduce its intake from 732 to 600 seats, the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering had approached the Karnataka High Court. The Court ruled that the college was entitled to admit 730 students in various engineering departments as per the intake framed by the AICTE for the academic year 2001-03. For more information on the college, email sagar@blr.vsnl.net.in or call 080 6665910 or 6660789.
