Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is atrocious to see the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader, Pravin Togadia's warning that there will be communal riots if the Ram bhakts are stopped ( Oct. 14 ) from entering Ayodhya. It amounts to an open threat to disturb peace within the nation. Mr. Togadia should be charged under POTA. It is only because of leaders like him and their hate campaigns that criminals like Dara Singh commit gruesome acts.
John Melvin Konath,
Sir, I was shaken on reading Mr. Togadia's warning. We youngsters believe in peace and every day we take the pledge that India is our country and all Indians are our brothers and sisters. Do not polarise this wonderful nation.
Priyanka,
Sir, The proposed VHP rally is a cause for concern. And the belligerence on display is unwarranted. There are immediate concerns such as poverty and unemployment to be addressed. If the Ram bhakts want to pray to God, let them do so in their homes. Why this show of strength?
T. Senthilkumar,
Sir, The Prime Minister has said the VHP should be trusted on its claim that it will hold the meeting peacefully in Ayodhya on October 17. Rajiv Gandhi trusted the VHP. So did Narasimha Rao. We have seen the results.
N. Nagarajan,
