Letters to the Editor
Sir, I refer to the editorial, "Stamps of dishonour" (Oct. 13). It is shocking to learn that the loss incurred could be to the tune of Rs. 32,000 crores. The Government can think of an alternative to the existing system. It can consider payment of stamp duty through banks, thereby eliminating the use of stamp paper. Documents can be authenticated on the basis of bank receipt.
