On the second day when 18 Hyderabad wickets fell, Karnataka spinners left-arm spinner Vinoo Prasad and off-spinner Ryan Ninan, had match hauls of eight and seven wickets each to top up the hosts delight. Chasing Karnataka's 208, Hyderabad resumed at 17 for two and suffered an early setback as southpaw Mohd. Imran snicked Ryan Ninan into Devraj Patil's gloves in the day's third over. At 20 for four, Hyderabad hopes of a middle-order revival fizzled out and the visitors were bundled out for 48 in 39 overs. Karnataka with a 160-run lead enforced the follow-on and found a positive echo as seamer Gaurav Dhiman trapped opener Gautam Reddy in the fifth ball of the Hyderabad second innings. The Hyderabad innings was soon in a shambles and though Mohd. Imran (57) and Rishi Raj (40) attempted to salvage pride; it proved to be a futile effort. Hyderabad was bowled out for 147 in 47 overs leaving Karnataka as deserving champions. At the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Tamil Nadu scored 165 for five in 55 overs at the close after Goa scored 277 in its first innings. Tamil Nadu's chase for first innings honours hinges on R. Srinivasan (59 n.o.) and K.B. Arun Karthik (28 n.o.). In another match at the RWF Ground, Kerala scored 51 for six in its second innings against Andhra. Earlier, Andhra scored 114 in its first innings and secured a 24-run lead. The scores: Karnataka 208 in 73 overs bt Hyderabad 48 in 39 overs (N. Vinoo Prasad five for 22, Ryan Ninan four for 10) and 147 in 47 overs (Mohd. Imran 57, Rishi Raj 40, Ryan Ninan three for 35, Gaurav Dhiman three for 36, Vinoo Prasad three for 68). Goa 277 in 129.5 overs (Abhay Sonawane 119, Anup Kolambkar 43, Shyam Shivkumar six for 94) vs Tamil Nadu 165 for five in 55 overs (R. Srinivasan 59 n.o., K. Shrivasudeva Das 30, K.B. Arun Karthik 28 n.o.). Kerala 90 in 40 overs and 51 for six in 43 overs (PAVN Raju three for 29) vs Andhra 114 in 62.3 overs (Murugan four for 27).
