APTI convention begins today

Hubli Oct. 16. E. Venkat Rao, Visiting Professor and Consultant and former Head of Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Andhra University, Waltair, has been chosen for the Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) for 2003.

The award will be given at the national convention of APTI beginning here on Friday. Others who will be honoured are D. Satyanarayana, Principal, NGSM Institute of Pharmacy Sciences Mangalore (Principal of the Year Award instituted by the Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research); K.R.R. Choudhary, Head of the Department of Pharmacy Sciences, Andhra University Waltair, and N.K. Jain of the H.S. Gaur Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh (Pharmacy Teachers Award instituted by the Bharati Vidyapeeth, a deemed university); Shyamala Bhaskaran of the Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy, Bangalore (Young Pharmacy Teacher Award instituted by the APTI); Sadhana Shahi of the Government College of Pharmacy Aurangabad, Maharashtra (Kamalben Vavia Memorial Award for Essay-writing); S.B. Gokhale of Sirpur (Services to pharmacy profession); C.R. Mahendra Shetty of the KLE College of Pharmacy, Bangalore (Best pharmacy teacher recommended by the Karnataka chapter of APTI); A.N. Mishra (best TAPTEC project award instituted by AICTE); Kanchan Kohli (Best R&D Award instituted by AICTE); P.K. Kulkarni and B.G. Nagavi (Dr. R.L. Nicore Award in Pharmaceutics); N.M. Mahesh (IJPE Award); and D.K. Madia (Prof. B.M. Mithal Memorial Award in Pharmaceutical Education).
