North-East business summit put off

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI OCT. 18 . The second North-East Business Summit scheduled to be held here on October 21 and 22 has been postponed until the middle of January following the directives issued by the Election Commission in view of the coming Assembly elections in five States.

A decision to reschedule the summit — to be held under the joint auspices of the Department of the Development of the North Eastern Region (DONER) — was taken immediately after the receipt of the Commission's directive on October 17.

According to the new schedule, the summit has take place on January 16 and 17 in New Delhi.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate it.
