The court also ordered the three to pay Rs. 1 lakh fine each. In case of non-payment, they will remain in jail for one more year. The court acquitted two former Rangers Inspector Waseem Akhtar and Sharab Arsalan Farooqui, who are members of the Harkat al-Mujahideen Aalmi. According to the prosecution, the attempt was made by placing a bomb in a vehicle on April 26 last year when Gen. Musharraf visisted Karachi for his referendum campaign. However, the remote control could not be activated, the prosecution said. The same vehicle was used for a blast outside the U.S. Consulate in Karachi.
