Police organise blood donation camps

By Our Staff Reporter

CUDDAPAH Oct. 18. The Superintendent of Police, Vijay Kumar, said on Saturday that the suicide of three members of a family in Proddatur town last week was being thoroughly investigated and that he was not hesitant to hand over the case to the CID if the situation warranted.

Speaking after inaugurating a blood donation camp organised in the police dormitory at Proddatur as part of the week-long celebrations preceding the Police Commemoration Day on October 21, he said the suicide of a wife, teenaged son and daughter of a cook had no eyewitnesses and refuted reports that the case might be closed. Mr. Vijay Kumar called upon factionalists to give up bloodshed and instead donate blood to save lives. The SP, the Proddatur DSP, Bhupathi Reddy, Circle Inspectors -- Rajasekhara Raju and Nagaraju, Sub-inspector, Ramanji Naik, and others donated blood.
