Tamil Nadu in finals

TANDUR OCT. 18. Tamil Nadu entered the finals of the boys and girls' sections of the Sub-junior national volleyball championship at the Mini Stadium here today.

In the boys' semifinals, Tamil Nadu put it across Uttaranchal 25-18, 25-18, 25-13 after getting the better off Andhra Pradesh 25-10, 25-4, 25-17 in the girls' quarterfinals.

The results: Boys (semifinals): Tamil Nadu bt Uttaranchal 25-18, 25-18, 25-13; Karnataka bt UP 25-17, 11-25, 26-24, 25-22. Quarterfinals: Karnataka bt AP 25-23, 20-25, 25-11, 20-25, 25-12; UP bt Manipur 25-19, 25-11, 28-26; Uttaranchal bt Kerala 25-13, 25-14, 25-4; Tamil Nadu bt Haryana 25-11, 25-21, 25-16.

Girls: Semifinals: Tamil Nadu bt AP 25-10, 25-4, 25-7; Uttar Pradesh bt West Bengal 25-16, 26-24, 25-5. Quarterfinals: West Bengal bt Kerala 25-13, 25-14, 25-4; UP bt Rajasthan 25-19, 25-22, 25-17; Tamil Nadu bt Karnataka 25-10, 25-12, 25-9; AP bt Haryana 25-16, 20-25, 25-14, 25-14.
