Three meet records set

KARAIKUDI Oct. 18. Three meet records were set on the opening day of the fifth Tamil Nadu State under-22 athletic championship, conducted by the Sivagangai District Athletic Association and Central Electrochemical Research Institute, at Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology ground here on Saturday.

Gopi of Kothai Athletic Club and P. Muthusamy of Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu, Chennai set records in 5000m and 110m hurdles respecrtively in the boys' section, while A. Sabastammal of Prime Sports Academy, Chennai set a new mark in the girls' 5000m.
