Tarundeep, Swuro take titles

Hyderabad OCT. 18. Tarundeep Rai of Army Sports Institute and Chakravolu Swuro of Nagaland won the men's and women's titles, respectively, in the Olympic round of the third National-ranking archery circuit tournament second phase at the Saroornagar Sports Complex here today.

The men's team title was won by Mangal Singh Champia, Rajesh and Nandakishore who defeated the team of Harish, Vishwas and Sivnath Nagesia by a 2-0 margin.

In the women's team event there were no upsets and the title went to the favourites comprising Dola Banerjee, Chakravolu Swuro and Reena Kumari who beat Sumangala, Bhagyabati Chanu and Bansara Lin Dhar 2-1 in the final. The results:

Men's individual final (best of three matches): Tarundeep Rai (ASI) bt Shivnath Nagesia (AP) 2-0 (110-107, 105-105, tiebreak 9-0).

Women's individual final: Chakravolu Swuro bt Dola Banerjee 2-1 (107-103, 104-105, 103-102).

Men's team final: Mangal Singh, Rajesh and Nandakishore beat Harish, Vishwas and Shivnath Nagesia 2-0 (234-231, 24-239).

Women's team final: Dola Banerjee, Chakravolu Swuro and Reena Kumari beat Sumangala, Bhagyabati Chanu and Bansara Lin Dhar 2-1 (228-220, 206-210, 229-220).
