Too late?

Sir, — Prime Minister Vajpayee's demand that Pakistan vacate occupied Kashmir (Oct. 19) is too little, too late. India has wasted time attempting to resolve the Kashmir issue through talks. It should make it clear that talks are possible only when Pakistan agrees to talk about returning PoK. And it should be consistent about the demand.
