According to the company's Vice-President, G. Shyamsundar, the new price of the base GL model without power windows would be offered for two months, especially to target taxi operators. Hindustan Motors was also planning to introduce new Lancer models in another one year, said Mr. Shyamsundar while launching a limited edition variant of Lancer, Excel, of which only 200 units would be manufactured. The new edition is priced at Rs. 8.25 lakhs and Rs.9.24 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol and diesel versions, respectively. The company is also planning to launch a luxury car and a sports-utility-vehicle (SUV). At present, it also assembles SUV Mitsubishi Pajero.
