Following the launch, the company is confident of attaining a Rs. 500 crore sales turnover in the next three years. It was expecting its turnover to move up by 10 per cent in the current fiscal to Rs. 330 crores. According to Metro Tyres Managing Director, Rummy Chhabra, the company has invested Rs. 40 crores in its Ludhiana plant to create facilities for producing new range tyres and tubes. It was also planning to pump in another Rs. 20 crores to augment production to one lakh units from the current 50,000 units, he said. Metro Tyres, one of the major players in the bicycle tyre market, entered into a technological and offtake agreement with global tyre maker Continental AG last year.
