CHENNAI OCT. 21. Northeast monsoon has been vigorous over Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra Pradesh and active over Kerala.

Rainfall occurred at most places over south coasal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka, at many places over Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka and at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Lakshadweep.

The following stations recorded heavy to very heavy rainfall recorded in cms are: Hubli (Dharwad dt) 14, Nellore 13, Kandukur (Prakasam dt) 10, Gudur (Nellore dt) and Mannarkkad (Palakkad dt) 8 each and Venkatagiri Town (Nellore dt), Allagadda (Kurnool dt) and Porumamilla (Cuddapah dt) & 7 each.

FORECAST (Valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal south interior Karnataka, at many places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep and north interior Karnataka and at a few places north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
