Insurance cover for police hiked

BANGALORE OCT. 21. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, announced here today that the insurance cover for policemen had been increased from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 3 lakhs.

He was speaking at the Police Commemoration Day at the Central Armed Reserve Parade Ground.

Mr. Krishna said policemen functioned undetr risky circumstances and the casualty in the police force was higher than in the Army.
