NSS team bags awards

BANGALORE OCT. 21. The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Bangalore University have won several prizes in the competitions held at the national integration camp at Dumka in Jharkhand from October 8 to 14. The 11-member NSS team which represented the State won the Best Team award, Best Programme Officer award, and Best Volunteer award. It also bagged the first prize in group singing, the second prize in rangoli, and the third prize in group dance. The NSS Programme Officer of Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College, Rajeshwari M.V., led the contingent, a press release issued by Bangalore University said. Ms. Rajeshwari, and C.S. Mithun of RBANMS First Grade College, Bangalore, won the Best Programme Officer and Best Volunteer awards, respectively. The university Chancellor, M.S. Thimmappa, and the NSS Programme Coordinator, M.K. Purushothama, have congratulated all the volunteers and the NSS Programme Officer, the release said.
