Bail for Amarinder

CHANDIGARH OCT. 22. A city court today granted regular bail to the Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh, who appeared for the first time in the defamation case filed against him by his predecessor, Parkash Singh Badal, one-and-a-half years ago.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate, C.L. Mohal, after recording the presence of Capt. Singh, adjourned the hearing till December 3. The CJM directed the plaintiff counsel to supply to the defence counsel a copy of the reply submitted by Mr. Badal to the Punjab Vigilance Bureau. — UNI
