The External Affairs Minister, Yashwant Sinha, told reporters that the decision had been conveyed by the Foreign Secretary, Kanwal Sibal, to Pakistan's High Commissioner in India, Aziz Ahmed Khan. Mr. Sinha said the Board of Control for Cricket in India was now free to hold talks with its Pakistani counterpart for chalking out programmes.
