The first was reported from Jailakshmi Apartments in I.P.Extension where the drawing room of a staff photographer of The Hindu, Rajeev Bhatt, was gutted. The fire, which broke out around 8 p.m., was brought under control within half-an-hour. Another fire was reported from a shop at Azadpur in North Delhi in the evening. Five fire tenders were pressed into action and the blaze was controlled within an hour. In the third incident, a fire broke out in a paper mill at Samaipur Badli around 8-30 p.m. Yet another incident was reported from Arawali Apartments at Nehru Place and over four fire tenders were despatched.
