Rain likely in north coastal A.P.
The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in cm: Tuni (A.P.) and Keeranur (Pudukottai dt.) 8 each and Kalingapattinam 7. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are: Kottayam, Punalur, Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram dt.) and Chodavaram (Visakhapatnam dt.) 5 each, Salur (Vizianagaram dt.) 4, Kannur, Kollam, Nedumangad (Thiruvananthapuram dt.), Narsipatnam, Paderu and Anakapalle (all Visakhapatnam dt.) and Koppal 3 each, Alapuzha, Chengannur (Alapuzha dt.), Peddapuram (E. Godavari dt.), Narasapur, Gadag, Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai, Thirumangalam (Madurai dt.) and Chatrapatti (Dindigual dt.) 2 each and Manjeri (Malapuram dt.), Thiruvalla (Pathanamthitta dt.), Cherthala (Alapuzha dt.), Thiruvananthapuram, Ponneri (Thiruvallur dt.), Vandavasi (Thiruvannamalai dt.), Sendamangalam (Namakkal dt.), Madurai Airport and Kodaikanal 1 each. On Friday, Tuticorin recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius in the region. Hyderabad airport and Hakimpet airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius in the plains. FORECAST (Valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south coastal A.P., Telangana and Kerala. Isolated rain or thundershowers may occur over Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
