List of sensitive booths sought

By Our Staff Correspondent

JAIPUR OCT. 25 . Even as the State police have launched a massive crackdown on anti-social and communal elements in the run-up to the Assembly elections, the Chief Election Officer, Lalit Kothari, has asked the Collectors to identify the sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling booths and send the lists by November 16. Mr. Kothari has asked the Collectors — who are also the District Election Officers — to review the law and order situation in their respective districts in accordance with the parameters laid down by the Election Commission, while marking the sensitive polling booths.

The second report about these booths is to be submitted by November 20 after the names of candidates filing nominations and contesting the polls are finalised.

The intelligence and law and order wings of the State police have been monitoring the activities of anti-social elements to curb their activities.
