Talking to reporters here, Mr. Muraleedharan said the responsibility of calling for talks on the issue rested with the UDF convener, Oommen Chandy. "But he is busy "levelling charges against the KPCC president and a senior leader in the Congress. In such a scenario how can he find time for talks?" He said no precedent had been followed in the case of deciding on the candidate for the Thiruvalla by-election. In the case of the Ernakulam by-election, at least talks were held on fixing the candidate, he said. Asked whether an alternative Government would be formed in the State, he said no possibility could be ruled out.
