By Our Staff Reporter
The police suspect that the youths, who were business partners, may have been hacked to death on Thursday night. They gave the names of the deceased as Vikas (19) of Tavarekere and Manjunath (22) of Madivala. The assailants had attacked them with choppers and swords, the police said. On Friday afternoon, Jayakumar, a farmer who was walking on the tank bund, noticed the bodies, the police said. The Additional Superintendent of Police (Bangalore Rural), B.S. Marthurkar, said that the motive behind the murder was yet to be established. He said the parents of Vikas and Manjunath themselves were not aware of the activities of their sons. He said that Vikas and Manjunath were reportedly into sale of mobile phones, arranging finance, and marketing. Mr. Marthurkar said that the two had a strained relationship. The Bannerghatta police have registered a case of murder and are investigating. In another incident, a 30-year-old man was found murdered on the road at Hosapalya in Madivala police station limits on Friday. The police said that Hanumantha, a resident of Chandapura and employed as a tailor at Sai Garments in Singasandra, had been attacked with swords and choppers on Thursday night. Passers-by noticed the body on Friday and informed the police. The Madivala police have taken up a case of murder. The police suspect that Hanumantha was killed due to old rivalry. Some persons have been picked up for questioning.
