Fireman held for demanding money

CHENNAI OCT. 26. The Thorapakkam police have arrested a fireman on charges of demanding money from a cracker shop on Saturday.

He was identified as Veerappan (47) of Maraimalainagar, who was suspended from service earlier. He allegedly approached a firewood vendor who was selling crackers and demanded money. Based on a complaint from the vendor, Vel Adithyan, Veerappan was arrested.
