Hizb commander shot dead

Jammu Oct. 27. Saiful Engineer alias Saiful Rehman, a top commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen, was shot dead by police last night in Safakadal area of Srinagar city. He was working as the chief military adviser of the militant outfit and was a resident of Rehman Yaar Khan, Pakistan. The militant, active since 1992, was second to Gazi Nassiruddin in the Hizb hierarchy in Kashmir and was the brain behind several fatal encounters.
