Three security personnel, including a Major, were injured in the encounter which took place a few km away from the Tanda Army camp where a Brigadier and seven jawans were killed by the fidayeen recently. Police said the two militants were behind last night's bomb blast in the Shalimar Express causing the derailment of five bogies and the engine, in Jatwal area on the Jammu-Pathankot track. The Army intercepted the militants, dressed in police fatigues and travelling in a vehicle, at midnight. The vehicle was about to cross the bridge over the Chenab on the Jammu-Poonch Highway. The militants disembarked and opened fire, killing a sentry. Army personnel returned the fire and apprehended the driver of the vehicle, but the two other militants escaped under cover of darkness. A search operation was launched and this afternoon, the two militants were killed.
