Japanese monks and nun robbed

HAZARIBAG OCT. 27. Two Buddhist monks and a nun from Japan were beaten up and robbed of their belongings at Atka village in Giridih district of Jharkhand.

Miscreants attacked the vehicle in which Eishiama, Hakko and nun Tshyama were returning to Kolkata by road on Saturday night after attending the 34th Vishwa Santi Stupha ceremony at Rajgir, the Deputy Inspector-General, B.B. Pradhan, said here today. They assaulted the monks and the nun before fleeing with their bags containing passports, camera, travel documents and air tickets.
