B.B. Lyngdoh dead

SHILLONG OCT. 27. The former Meghalaya Chief Minister, Brington Buhai Lyngdoh, died here today. He was 82 and is survived by a son and daughter. Mr. Lyngdoh, who was the Chief Minister of the State thrice in the past, was hospitalised a few days ago with chest infection and pneumonia, family sources said.

Mr. Lyngdoh became the Chief Minister in 1979 for the first time and continued in the post for the next two years. He again led a Government between March 1990 to October 1991 when his regime was dismissed and President's rule imposed. He was again at the helm of the affairs from March 1998 till 2000.
