Sir, The report that eligible bachelors are kidnapped and forced into marriage in Bihar ( Oct. 27 ) should not be dismissed as yet another aberration peculiar to that State. The Government has been trying to eradicate dowry in vain. The evil has caused serious imbalance in the country's sex ratio as parents are resorting to female foeticide. The marriage mafia may be doing an indirect social reform albeit by objectionable means.
