2 held for raping tourist at Courtallam

Tirunelveli Oct. 28. The Courtallam police arrested two persons, including the manager of a private lodge, on charges of raping a tourist from Dindigul.

According to the police, a couple from Eriyodu in Didigul district, who had been married for eight months, had come to Courtallam on October 26. Since they had come to Courtallam for the first time, an autorickshaw driver, haling from Kasimajorpuram near Courtallam, took them to a private lodge on the Main Falls - Five Falls stretch, where the wife was allegedly raped by the manager of the lodge on October 26 night at knife-point, when the husband had gone out.

Seizing this opportunity, the auto driver too allegedly raped the woman on October 27, when the husband had gone out.

After the victim narrated the incidents to the husband, he filed a complaint with the Courtallam police, who arrested the duo.
