CESC to offer VRS

KOLKATA OCT. 28. CESC has finalised a voluntary retirement scheme to reduce the staff strength by 4,000. According to preliminary estimates, the rationalisation would help CESC reduce the power tariff by 10 paise per unit. While the company's spokesperson was not available to comment on the VRS issue, sources said CESC was in the final stage of negotiation with all the three trade unions.
