By Our Staff Reporter
At a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi here this evening, Mr. Goyal issued strict instructions to the civic body to remove posters, banners and hoardings. Conceding their slackness due to Diwali and other festivals in past one week, the civic body officials assured the CEO that these would be removed over the next few days. They promised to submit a daily report to the Commission from Wednesday. Mr. Goel warned the officials that strong action would be taken against them for any slackness in their duties in this regard. "We cannot tolerate defacement of Delhi on account of elections,'' he said. The CEO also reviewed the poll preparations with regard to providing of basic civic infrastructures at polling booths on the day of polling.
