Gowda distorting nature of clashes: Poojary

By Our Special Correspondent

Bangalore Oct. 28. The KPCC President, B. Janardhana Poojary, has hit out at the former Prime Minister, H.D. Deve Gowda, alleging that he was distorting the real nature of the inter-party clashes in Hassan district.

Speaking to The Hindu from Bidar, Mr. Poojary said that it was the Congress party workers who were the victims of attacks by JD(S) workers in Hassan District, contrary to what Mr. Gowda had been saying. If at all anyone had any grievance, it was he as the head of the State Congress. He (Mr. Poojary) should have staged the dharna and not Mr. Gowda.

Mr. Poojary noted that a Congress worker was killed in a village near Channarayapatna in an inter-party clash and Mr. Gowda owed an explanation for it.
