India will project its aeronautical strength in aerospace research, development, manufacture, and maintenance during the show. "The purpose is not only to highlight our achievements and strength, but also to invite co-production and develop global cooperation,'' The SIATI president, C.G. Krishnadasan Nair, told presspersons here. Dr. Nair said that advanced composite technology and software used in the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft and the Advanced Light Helicopter would be showcased at the event. With an expected participation of over 200 organisations, the Singapore air show will be the largest outside Europe. Besides SIATI members, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Aeronautical Development Agency, National Aerospace Laboratory, and Bharath Earth Movers Ltd. will take part in the event. On the recent Paris Air Show, Dr. Nair said seven SIATI member companies had received "outsourcing'' enquiries from global companies. The orders, once finalised, could be worth several million dollars. SIATI, he recalled, had signed an agreement with the NorthWest Aerospace Alliance, a group of equipment and system manufacturers, which supplies aerospace components to several related European agencies.
